Applications

Boron Phosphate Anhydrous, on account of its acidic properties, reacts in the lower temperature range with basic raw materials by a neutralization reaction. On heating to temperatures of over 390°F (200°C), additional bonding occurs due to the formation of polymeric phosphates. With a further temperature increase, the phosphate bond persists until the ceramic bond comes into effect without any loss in strength. Boron Phosphate Anhydrous is an alkali-free, powder-type binder especially for zircon silicate and corundum, but also for the use in unshaped refractories of Al2O3-containing raw materials. Dry mixes with a long shelf-life can be produced by premixing with our Boron Phosphate Anhydrous. The mixes already have excellent strength properties even at comparatively low temperatures, comparable to those refractories bonded with monoaluminum phosphate.
