What is Barium Hydroxide Monohydrate?
Barium Hydroxide is the chemical compound with the formula Ba(OH)2. Barium Hydroxide can be prepared by dissolving Barium Oxide (BaO) in water. It crystallizes as the Octahydrate, which converts to the Monohydrate upon heating in air:
BaO + 9 H2O → Ba(OH)2·H2O
Both grades are used frequently in PVC Stabilizers / Lubricants as well as an excellent heat stabilizer. BassTech can control certain elements in the Barium Hydroxide, such as Iron and Zinc, should it be critical for your process.
