Applications
BassBond B+, on account of its acidic properties, reacts in the lower temperature range with basic raw materials by a neutralization reaction. On heating to temperatures of over 390°F (200°C), additional bonding occurs due to the formation of polymeric phosphates. With a further temperature increase, the phosphate bond persists until the ceramic bond comes into effect without any loss in strength. BassBond B+ is an alkali-free, powder-type binder especially for zircon silicate and corundum, but also for the use in unshaped refractories of Al2O3-containing raw materials. Dry mixes with a long shelf-life can be produced by premixing with our BassBond B+. The mixes already have excellent strength properties even at comparatively low temperatures, comparable to those refractories bonded with monoaluminum phosphate.
