What is Barium Hydroxide?
Barium Hydroxide is the chemical compound with the formula Ba(OH)2. Barium Hydroxide can be prepared by dissolving Barium Oxide (BaO) in water:
BaO + 9 H2O → Ba(OH)2·8H2O
It crystallizes as the Octahydrate, which converts to the Monohydrate upon heating in air. Both grades are used frequently in PVC Stabilizers / Lubricants as well as an excellent heat stabilizer. BassTech can control certain elements in the Barium Hydroxide, such as Iron and Zinc, should it be critical for your process.
